Mari-Carmen Marcos' Presentation
PhD Mari-Carmen Marcos is a Professor in Information and Library Science at University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona. She coordinates –and teaches in two Online Masters called Master in Digital Information and Master in Search Engines, and the Master in Digital Contents Management (UB-UPF) among other postgraduate courses.
Her area of interest is Interaction Design in Information Retrieval Systems, which is developed in two research groups at UPF: DigiDoc and Web Research Group. She is the scientific editor of the journal Faz, specialized in interaction design and user experience. Since 2004 to 2009 she organized the Seminar in Usability in Digital Information Systems as an event of the Catalonian Association of Librarians. In 2007 she collaborated with the Interaction Design Laboratory (University of North Carolina), where she stayed thanks to a Fulbright fellowship.
She has worked as a consultancy for companies and public institutions in user experience improvement and search engine optimization projects.
